What do you do when you have thousands of biodegradable sponges nearing their end of life?
You don’t send them to landfill… you create gardens with them! We’re super proud to partner with Community Gardens Australia to launch the world’s first Sponge Garden.

A garden made from dish sponges
You heard right! Our home compostable Dish Sponges were nearing the end of their life, so instead of sending them to landfill we worked with a regenerative designer to give them a new life as a garden bed.
Using Koh’s 100% biodegradable Dish Sponges (made from wood pulp) we’ve designed a layered garden bed. The self watering design, reduces water usage and creates a happier home for your plants!
The sponges act as water retention, feeding your plant, until being composted over time, breaking down and turning into plant food.
