How to clean car interiors (seats, dashboard & console)

Between coffee runs, road trips and singalongs, your car interior cops a lot — fingerprints, makeup smudges and mystery crumbs. Universal Cleaner makes it easy to lift the lot and bring back that “ahhh, fresh” feeling.

What you need

✔ Universal Cleaner
✔ Atomiser Spray Bottle
✔ General Cloth
✔ Grout Brush

Step-by-step guide

Step 1
Spray Universal Cleaner directly onto the interior: go heavier on leather and fabric seats and the steering wheel, and leave for 2–3 minutes to work.

Step 2
Use a lighter spray over the dashboard and console.

Step 3
Wipe over the dashboard, doors, seats and steering wheel, paying extra attention to high-touch, high-grime spots.

Step 4
For makeup or greasy marks, let the cleaner sit for another minute, then use the non-scratch scrubby corner of your General Cloth to lift the grime.

Step 5
Use your Grout Brush wrapped in a cloth to get into seams or stitching where dirt hides.

Step 6
Buff everything with the soft side of your cloth for a smooth, streak-free finish.

Pro tip

Regularly wipe the steering wheel and console — they’re bacteria hot spots and collect oils from hands faster than you think.

Safety note: Always test a small area first — especially on leather or delicate trims. Avoid oversaturating fabrics or stitching.

Other notes

You can also use Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner for a foam, wash and rinse approach.
