Step-by-step guide

Step 1
Unplug the lamp and let it cool.

Step 2
Dust with the Dusting Mitt (or use a soft-bristle brush for pleats).

Step 3
Fabric: Dab stains gently with Universal Cleaner on a General Cloth.

Step 4
Glass/plastic: Spray with Universal Cleaner and wipe with a General Cloth.

Step 5
Paper: No water — just dust with your Dusting Mitt.

Step 6
Always let the shade air-dry fully before reassembly.

Pro tip

A weekly quick dust stops grime from settling in — less effort, brighter glow.

Safety first: Never soak fabric or paper shades — they’ll warp or discolour. Handle delicate shades gently to avoid dents or warping.

Other notes

• Odour refresh: If fabric shades smell a little stale, pop them in sunlight for a short spell (avoid long exposure, which can fade colour).

• Pet hair hack: A lint roller or even a slightly dampened General Cloth works wonders for removing hair.
