Rugs take just as much punishment as carpets but are easier to refresh at home without professional kit. A Koh clean lifts stains and odours while protecting the fibres.
What you need
✔ Universal Cleaner
✔ Atomiser Spray Bottle
✔ General Cloth
✔ Kitchen paper or an extra Cloth
Step-by-step guide
Step 1
Blot the stain immediately with a clean General Cloth to lift as much liquid as possible.
Step 2
Place kitchen paper or a dry Cloth underneath the rug, directly under the stained area, to absorb excess solution.
Step 3
Spray Universal Cleaner lightly onto the stain.
Step 4
Leave for one to two minutes to break it down.
Step 5
Blot with the General Cloth, working gently from the outside inward.
Step 6
Replace the paper or cloth underneath if it becomes damp, then repeat the blotting until the stain is gone.
Step 7
Allow the rug to air dry thoroughly before placing it back in use.
Pro tip
Lift your rug and clean both sides if liquid has soaked through — this helps prevent lingering odours.
